In the latest update of Terminal (and the platform in general), we have made several significant improvements to the order book functionality, making it even more convenient and flexible to use. These innovations will help traders analyze the market more effectively and make better-informed decisions. In this article, we will cover the key updates, including the new two-column order book mode, bubble-style tick trade chart, support for moving spread, as well as enhancements for sparse and grouped order books.

New Two-Column Order Book Mode

Now, the order book in StockSharp can be displayed in two columns: one column for prices and the other for order volumes. Unlike the previous three-column mode where bid and ask volumes were shown separately, they are now merged into one column, with visual distinction for buy and sell orders using background colors.

Advantages of the new mode:

  • Compactness: All order volumes at a single price level are consolidated into one column, making the interface more compact.
  • Visual separation: It's easy to distinguish buy and sell volumes thanks to different background colors.
  • Space-saving: This format allows for more convenient management of multiple assets on one screen.

Bubble-Style Tick Trade Chart

You can now use a bubble-style tick trade chart, where each bubble represents an individual trade. The size of the bubble corresponds to the trade volume: the larger the volume, the bigger the bubble. The color of the bubble indicates the trade direction — green for buys and red for sells.

Advantages of the bubble chart:

  • Visual clarity: Quick visual analysis of trade volumes thanks to varying bubble sizes.
  • Color coding: Instant differentiation between buys and sells with green and red colors, respectively.
  • Ease of analysis: The visual representation of trades allows you to quickly assess market activity.

New Moving Spread Mode

A new moving spread mode has been added to the platform, which automatically adjusts the spread based on price movement. If the price rises, the spread shifts upward, and if the price falls, the spread moves down. This feature helps you track the spread dynamics more effectively in relation to the current market movement.

Advantages of the moving spread mode:

  • Automatic adjustment: The spread automatically adapts to price changes.
  • Ease of analysis: It helps to more accurately track changing market conditions and price dynamics.

Improved Support for Sparse Order Books

Handling sparse order books is now even more convenient. The platform automatically optimizes the display for assets with large gaps between order prices, making the information easier to analyze.

Advantages:

  • Clear display: Convenient representation of orders even for low-liquidity assets with sparse price levels.
  • Ease of analysis: Easier to track data with fewer orders.

Grouped Order Book

We have also improved support for the grouped order book, which aggregates orders at close price levels into groups. This simplifies the analysis of instruments with large numbers of orders distributed across similar price levels.

Advantages of the grouped order book:

  • Order grouping: Convenient representation of large amounts of information.
  • Reduced visual clutter: This reduces the amount of data to analyze, making it easier to interpret.

Customizable Options

All new order book features can be enabled or disabled at will, returning the order book to its previous appearance if needed. This way, you can customize the order book to suit your preferences: keep the two-column mode, enable the tick trade bubble chart, or use the moving spread — or revert to the classic layout.

Conclusion

The latest updates to the order book functionality make using it in StockSharp more flexible and efficient. The new two-column mode with visual volume separation, bubble-style tick trade chart, moving spread, and enhanced support for sparse and grouped order books allow traders to access more accurate and up-to-date data for analysis and decision-making.
